A legend tells of the "Windorf Bear Catch". One day a young man is said to have spread the rumor in the market that a gruesome beast was sitting on a tree near Hacklstorf. He thought he saw a bear. Armed with flails and scythes, the market dwellers set out to kill the beast. As they got closer, however, they noticed that the bear was just a Capuchin monk who was praying his breviary and nibbling cherries. Ashamed, the Windorf "bear catchers" went home and have had to endure the ridicule of the neighborhood. On the occasion of the 25-year partnership between Windorf and the municipality of Pirka in the Austrian state of Styria, a stone sculpture was inaugurated there in 2010 for “Windorf Bear Catching”. The southern part of the municipality, which existed until the end of 2014, also bears the name Windorf.Q: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windorf#Sage
