The pilgrimage church of Our Lady and Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul in Steinhausen, a district of Bad Schussenried (Upper Swabia) is a Baroque church, which was built from 1728 to 1733 for the Reich Abbey Schussenried, during the term of Abbot Didacus Ströbele. Designed, built and stuccoed by Dominikus Zimmermann, with art-historical ceiling frescoes by his older brother Johann Baptist Zimmermann, it is considered the main work of the Wessobrunn school as well as one of the greatest masterpieces of the early Rococo. The pilgrimage church is both a main attraction of the Upper Swabian Baroque Route and the Upper Swabian Way of St. James (the disciple James is found as a ceiling painting in the church). The church has been a parish church since 1865 and is often referred to as the "most beautiful village church in the world".

It is absolutely worth stopping here and going inside the church. Because it should be the most beautiful in all of Germany. The ceiling dome is completely painted and you can't get enough of the high altar. The church is really beautiful and obviously everything is being done to keep it that way.

Very beautiful, baroque church from the outside. If you are in the area, you can see it from a distance.
