On the middle path (long-distance hiking trail) leading from Pforzheim to Waldshut, on the second stage (Bad-Wildbad - Besenfeld) of the Old Wine Route, stands the Neuhaus Hut. The name "Neuhaus Hut" recalls the so-called "upper new house" on the Old Wine Route. The "lower new house" stood in the meadows near today's sewage treatment plant on the Murg River in Schönmünzach. The forest path from there upwards is still called the Scheiterweg (Scheiterweg). With a steady incline, the approximately 4 km long path overcomes an elevation gain of approximately 425 m. More than 200 years ago, around 1750, it was used to transport firewood from the Murg to the Enz River. The reason for this arduous operation was the then existing border between Baden and Württemberg. For political reasons, the "Württemberg" wood from the upper Murg Valley could not be transported down the valley across the Baden border near Schönmünzach. To accommodate the necessary labor and horses, buildings were needed both in the valley and on the hill. Remains of the foundation walls of the "upper new house" are still visible today, as is the well shaft. The original location is not identical to the current location of the hiking and shelter hut. This is located approximately 300 meters north in the closed forest. Signs indicate this location. (seewald.eu/index.php?id=338&type=98)

The "Neuhaushütte" or "Forstrat-Ebert-Hütte" is located on the "Mittelweg" of the Black Forest Association e.V. on the stage Bad-Wildbad - Besenfeld, on the "Alte Weinstraße".
        - Hiker's hut and refuge, built in the 1950s
        - approx. 4 km from Besenfeld
        - The name "Neuhaushütte" is intended to remind of the so-called "Obere Neue Haus" on the Schwenk broom field on the "Alte Weinstrasse"
        - The second name "Forstrat-Ebert-Hütte" is intended to commemorate Walter Ebert (1901-1985), head of the then forestry office in Enzklösterle
