Schloss Rittersfeld was given to nobleman Georg Raitweger in 1638 as a "Pruelhof" for his war services as an imperial fief. Already in 1641 it became his property, from then on he called himself the first "of Rittersfeld". The castle changed in later times often the owner.

The castle often changes hands in later times. Currently it makes a rather neglected impression.
