Already mentioned in the founding document of the Kremsmünster monastery from 777. Basis of the first spa operation from 1828. The spring was created in a well shaft 15 m deep with star-shaped boreholes in the years 1847 - 1858 under the direction of mountain master Ramsauer from Hallstadt.
