Ships weighing up to 9,000 tons can now cross the Meuse. Previously, the maximum weight limit was 2,000 tons. In Lanaye, a village in the municipality of Visé, is currently the largest inland waterway lock in Europe. The lock is 225 meters long and 25 meters wide.
