The Holzmaar is just over 200 meters in diameter one of the smaller Maare. It is located in a nature reserve and bathing in the lake is therefore prohibited. In the south, the Maare-Moselle Cycle Route winds its way through the Maar, which joins the Moselle on an old Daun track.
