The large Teichelberg is of volcanic origin and a large basalt deposit. By 2018, basalt was also mined on the 685 meter high mountain. On the north side of the mountain you can look into the old quarry and gain interesting geological insights.

Insider tip! Hardly any other mountain bikers, but be careful, it is a former quarry and it can suddenly drop several meters. For this reason, I would only let dogs run on a leash. Be especially careful with children. The surrounding forest area is a FFH area, please stay on the roads.
