It was probably built at the beginning of the 13th century, since it was built from carved granite blocks. It consists of a nave with semicircular apse, a full-width superior west tower and a pointed-arched west portal. On the south wall on the organ loft are remains of an early medieval wall painting, these originated at the end of the 14th century. The pictures show Adam and Eve after the expulsion from paradise, Eve with cradle and spindle and Adam, who ordered the field. Exposed in the 1950s, only this piece was restored, although it was assumed that the entire church was painted. After the Thirty Years' War, the top of the tower was renewed, as the weathervane with the year 1683 makes it easy to see.On the north side there is a Baroque half-timbered annex, which granted access to the Patronatsloge. This fell victim to renovations in the 1950s, and the access was walled up.
A special feature is an underground passage that led from the manor house to this porch to allow the family of Strantz access to their family tomb, which is located below the church.
