Tips
S-charl is an old mining settlement in Val S-charl. You can reach the picturesque (off) mountain village from Scuol via the road. There is a bus line that also transports bikes (reservation by phone recommended). From Val Müstair you can reach S-charl via trails and farm roads over the Pass da Costainas. The route is a highlight of the Swiss National Park Marathon.
There are two very nice hotels and a small Hotel Garni on the outskirts.
In the middle of the village square is the beautiful old Bären fountain to fill up the water reserves for the rest of the way.translated by
