As my other half set off this morning with his motorcycle and his buddy to make the passes unsafe, I thought that today is the opportunity for me to do the last leg of the AareRoute. About five years ago we did this tour with the "normal" bikes! At Oberwald via Grimsel, Giessbachfälle, Brienzer- u Thunersee then direction Bern to Biel and finally from Biel, Solothurn to Aarau. The route is of course only finished when the Aare flows into the Rhine at Felsenau / Koblenz.
Unfortunately, I could not drive many paths directly along the Aare, as they were still closed due to the flood. So I drove on one side of the Klingnau reservoir to Felsenau and saw where the Aare flows into the Rhine. Then we went up the other side of the dam from the reservoir towards Brugg. After Brugg I had to make a big bend around the riverside roads because everything was still closed. In Schinznach I was able to take the riverside path to Biberstein again. Then on the direct way home. I can finally “dig” my AareRoute 😉

Today we wanted to avoid the dirt that has been in the woods in the last few days. So we drove over Refenthal to Lüpu in the direction of Mosen. From there we went in the direction of Altwis to Müswangen. Then we drove part of the Freiämterweg along. When we arrived in Seengen, we couldn't miss the Kafi and the Nussgipfel! 😋 This time we didn't drive home via Hallwil but drove a bit along the Aabach to Seon, from there via Hunzenschwil via Weier to Gränichen. Nice gsi. 😍
Unfortunately there are no photos today because my cell phone refused to take photos. 😬

This week is actually not suitable for bike tours. Lots of rain and floods all over the country. Nevertheless, the weather forecast for this Wednesday showed a period of rest before the heavy rain on Thursday. So we decided to jump out of bed a little earlier and at least climb the Lauenen Lake. The weather kept getting better the further we drove. The sun even shone briefly at Lake Lauenen, which at least lured a bathing mermaid to the lake. As we drove on, the sun pressed more and more and so we decided to drive back along the Turbach. The trail is easy and wonderful to ride. In any case, there were almost no hikers today. At the back we decided to conquer the Hornberg in the nice weather. We went over the Zwitzeregg almost to the summit. A great climb that is easy to ride. Once at the top, we allowed ourselves a small platter and a cream cake. We were entertained by your country band. After a heavy rain shower, it went back down via Saanenmöser and Schönried. A wonderful tour, which wasn't actually planned that way, but you adapt to the weather. ;-)

Made another great lap today in perfect weather. After a coffee strengthening in the Rischli, it went down to Flüehli. The trail along the river is really fun. From then on it goes up to the Hilferenpass - the last passage was a bit sloppy but very mobile. Then it went down rapidly and then into the next rough incline along the Schrattenfluh. Some passages are really cool to drive - all steep up, steep down, mud, stones and some snow. Then back down to the Chemmeribodenbad. What a crowd! Wow! Ate a fine sandwich at the food truck and then back up to the Salwideli and across the Roosweid to the Schwand. There, finally, the well-deserved meal with a (small) Merinque. Fully ... went down to Sörenberg. What a great tour in the wonderful Swiss mountains! One of the top tours in 2021.

The weather report was pretty mixed. Nevertheless, the group of bikes decided to do a lap before the heavy rain. Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. it seemed perfect. Since Däneli wanted to go to the «Sennhütten» for a long time, the route took us east. First it went wonderfully along the Aare to Wallbach. From there it went pretty up to Bözbergstrasse. We continued through wonderful meadows and forests until we arrived at the Sennhütten. There seems to be a real biker hangout there. They came to the pub from all sides and enjoyed the still dry Sunday. We had a coffee and a fine nut croissant. Then we went down to Kästhal and then up again towards «Linde von Linn». The ascent led through a wonderful valley, unfortunately the rain in the last few days and weeks has massively damaged the path and it took some driving skills to cross the valley. At the top we found that the path was blocked. At Linn's linden tree there were a few more selfis with the linden tree before we went home via Schinznach Dorf along the Aare. Another nice tour with a great group.

Today I wanted to do a lap before the thunderstorm! It started in the direction of Homberg. Today I made known and unknown ways. Something different for once. 1-2 trails in front of the Homberg are of course included. 👍🏼
After the Homberg we went up towards Schwarzenbach. Through the forest back towards Mosen. I wanted to “ume Hallwilersee” again. In Meisterschwanden, then in the direction of Fahrwangen up to the forest. There to Seengen. Past the castle to Hallwil and Dürrenäsch. Almost last found a new trail. But hello ... very muddy and washed out by the storm. There was no turning back for me, so keep your eyes open and through. 🙈🙈🙊At the end of the trail, I looked wonderful ... from top to bottom, so dirty. But it was still fun. But now it was time to come home. At home I just had enough time to clean the bike and shoes. That means my dear husband has already been waiting for me and "washed the worst of the bike, so that all I had to do was wash and polish it." Thank you😘

Today we made up for the Whitsun tour, which unfortunately a lot in water. We started in Huttwil. Shortly after the village we went up to Fiechtenberg. But then you are a bit higher up and can enjoy the wonderful view. In Wiggisberg, some of us were surprised by a hysterical peasant woman. According to her, this is not a bike path over at her farm. There is nothing to be seen of a driving ban on the way. She would prefer to take the chance and meet the many “bike enthusiasts” in the. Offer a dessert or coffee to Emmental. After about 17 km we reached the Lueg. The war memorial revealed something to us on this point. The view was simply breathtaking. Then everything went along the ridge to Schalleberg - always the wonderful alpine panorama in view. Then we went down to Rüegsbach and slowly up an endless, wonderful valley to “Mittler Moos”. If only it hadn't been for the headwind ... Then it wasn't that far to the Affoltern show dairy. We enjoyed a fine “meat / cheese plate” on the garden terrace. For dessert there was a meringue. Simply great ... across forests and meadows and cool meadow trails we went back to Huttwil via Dürrenroth. A wonderful tour, a lot up and down… .but that's just how it is in the beautiful Emmental.

Good organization was required today - where does the rain come from and when does it come ... but we chose the right tour and drove around the Stierenberg. At times it was really warm. In the forest but pretty wet ... so there were only a few trails at Liebegg Castle. It was good to do a lap today, despite the bad forecast, and yet again to break new ground.

Today the weather forecast predicted rain for the afternoon. So we had to hurry up to be able to do another tour. In terms of clouds, the south was better than the north, so it went up the Wynental to Reinach. There over the hill to Beinwil. Above the lake along to Mosen. We have just tested the new bike path to Mosen. Canton well done! We went on to Altwis. From there came the arduous ascent to Lindenberg. But we were rewarded with a great view. The play of the sun with the clouds was awesome. From then on it was more or less just down to Seengen. A coffee / nut croissant stop at the Studler bakery and back home via Dürrenäsch, Bampf and the Schloss Trail. Been wonderful.
