At the fairy tale meadow, about 80 meters from the rest house "Knusperhäuschen" away, springs the birch spring. It was until 1985 a well-groomed, rich source. Unfortunately, today she gives only a little water. The source probably got its name from the surrounding birches. Patients of the former central hospital in the 1960s, the lettering "12 Birch - source" in a stone carved. The name Märchenwiese also dates back to this time. The meadow was one of the most beautiful flower meadows in the area with rare grasses and flowers. That's why she got the name Märchenwiese.
