The chapel in Schönberg is one of the most defining landmarks of the Schwalm Valley. It stands on a basalt cone high above the valley. It was probably built around 1000 AD. Weddings and occasional services are held here today. The view from above is beautiful, the climb is definitely worth it. An open guided tour takes place every fourth Saturday of the month at 2 p.m. without prior notice.
