"To the Chancellor of the newly resurrected German Empire" was the inscription on the now sadly destroyed bronze relief from 1899 on the Bismarck Stone. The stone laurel wreath that framed the relief is still preserved. As is the now barely legible inscription carved into the stone below: "Prince Bismarck - First Chancellor."
