On December 1st of the year, the city administration opened a nursing home for 57 residents on Burgstrasse. It was dissolved on December 31, 1993 because the facility no longer met the time requirements.

The residents were moved to Ducherow and Leipziger Allee 26. The director from 1958-1976 was Hilde Krumm and then Helgart Hahn until 1993.

In 1272 a house "Zum Heiligen Geist" was first mentioned in Burgstrasse, which served to accommodate the poor and sick and was equipped with its own land. The Holy Spirit Hospital was finally opened here by monks in 1338.

In 1376 and 1659 the house fell victim to city fires, but was always rebuilt.

In the recent past it served as a retirement home and recently the building houses parts of the city administration.

Despite its long history, the building, which stands right next to the Church of the Holy Spirit, appears very inconspicuous and you would quickly walk past it.
