The garrison church stands on the site of the Holy Spirit Church, which was mentioned for the first time in 1772. In 1376 and 1659, after being rebuilt in the Gothic style, the church burned down. The garrison church was then built for a Prussian garrison in 1738-1741.

The Garrison Church (Holy Spirit Church) was built at the end of the 13th century. After a fire and reconstruction in 1659, it was built in 1738 as a new baroque building for the Prussian garrison. After being converted for residential purposes, the church was destroyed in 1945 and rebuilt into a residential building a few years later. A renovation/restoration took place in the 90s.
