Pater und Nun is a rock formation made of mass limestone in the Iserlohn district of Oestrich.
The natural rock monument consists of two 60 m high stone towers. The Grürmannshöhle, which is around five meters long today, is also located here.
According to legend, a monk and a nun lived here together without taking off their white monastic robes. When they threw a warning bishop into the Lenne, the two were struck by lightning and turned to stone.
The rock formation is right on the bike path between Letmathe and Oestrich.
