You come here on the bike path Berlin-Usedom over. From the mill built in the Middle Ages, only remnants exist. The mill operation was discontinued in 1974. In 2002, the roof burned down from the administration building, which had been converted into a villa in 1907.

During the time of the castle lords on the Schlossberg in Biesenthal, the defensive mill served as a protective shield for the castle complex. The name refers to a land defense force that raised danger, so the water of the Finow was dammed until the area around the castle was flooded. Only the castle on the Schlossberg remained dry.
