The lime kilns (Forns de calç de na Llaneres / Hornos de cal de na Llaneres) consist of a round hole in the earth, covered with stone walls without mortar. They were used for the production of lime, which was mainly intended for the construction industry, and have been documented in Mallorca since the 13th century.

On the GR221 you will pass several ruins of lime kilns. This hut was the only one we saw that was completely rebuilt.
