The city center of Nauen is peppered with magnificent, listed buildings. It owes this above all to the fact that it was spared from the destruction during the Second World War. In the historic old town you will find beautiful, elaborately designed half-timbered houses, handsome buildings with turrets and gables and the imposing brick church of St. Jacobi. By the way, the latter is the oldest building in Nauen.

The special character of the old town with its cobblestone streets lies in the contrast between the large, structurally dominant Wilhelminian style buildings on the main streets and the typical small farm houses in the side streets. Many of the numerous half-timbered buildings that still exist are listed buildings. The often tranquil inner courtyards of the old town are also attractive.
