Best Hikes to Stone Circle in Lindengrund

Tips

  • What function did the mysterious stone circle once have in the forest area »Lindengrund« near Hausen? Many local historians have already shattered this question. Edmund Knoeferl has developed a new hypothesis after finds in the area: The stone circle could be the remnant of a 15 to 20 meter high tower of Celtic tribes.

  • Stone circle
The picture shows a round stone wall with a diameter of about nine meters in the Steinfeld forest area "Lindengrund". The stones stacked on top of each other are hewn.
The peculiar shape of the structure, but especially the fact that hewn stones are formed into a circle, is so unusual that no final judgment has yet been made about the date of the wall.
