The mill Stenvad was moved from Kraghede to its present location in 1909, after the old mill from 1850 burned down in 1906. Among other things, some mill facilities have been preserved. Mill, drum screen, grain fan and oat roll.

In 1969/70, the locals rescued the mill from decay.
The mill looks neat and fully functional.
It is owned by the local civic association.
    The mill can be visited.

The original mill in Stenvad was built in 1850, but burned down in 1906. Three years later, the current mill was moved here from Kraghede. It is obvious that a lot of recycled wood is used in the construction.
The mill was restored in the years around 1969 on local initiative.

      Technical equipment:

The mill is self-tilting (wind rose) and tiltable (flap wing). It probably had a spring folding mechanism, but later a "spider" and tie rods were installed.

In 1920 an 18 hp engine was installed.

The gears are quite modern with a crown wheel made entirely of iron (conical cam wheel).

The machinery consists of two mills with artificial stone, a shell mill and an oat roller. There are 2 downpipe sieves, one with a mechanical shaker and one with a connection to the grain fan. Downpipe sieves (see picture) are a relatively simple form of sieve that works like a strainer and is built into a wooden tube that is placed between the mill and the bag outlet.
