Very nice climb, rooted, steep. Allow at least 2 hours from the parking lot. Almost no one walks, you have the path to yourself. It is best to climb up so that you are at the top before the train runs.

We made the ascent from Mandarfen during the hut-to-hut hike to the Kaunergrat Hut. If we're faced with another strenuous hike like the one to the Kaunergrat Hut, I'd prefer to take the gondola next time.
