The Kapfhütte is open all year round as a shelter for hikers. Up here there is a fantastic view over the Elztal, over to the Kinzigtal, up to the Brandenkopf and into the distance up to the Hornisgrinde, the highest mountain in the northern Black Forest.

From May to the end of October it is hosted on Sundays and public holidays. Outside of these times, catering for groups is possible on request. Otherwise the hut is freely accessible.
