A beginner friendly (and family friendly) start to Herzogstand and Jochberg. The way to Herzogstand is well paved and very flat. But some part of the gravel path could be a bit slippery when hiking down, better with proper hiking boots. ‼️‼️‼️THE ONLY CON is, there is NO bus stop to the direction Kochel. So if you take the bus from Kochel to Paßhöhe, upon returning you have to go to the previous station Helmerhütte or the next Urfeld. From Paßhöhe only bus to Garmisch.
