"Which is the only lake (!!) in Scotland?" Three miles east of Aberfoyle in the heart of the Trossachs lies the Lake of Menteith, the so-called "Lake!" (LAKE). A boat that can carry 12 passengers departs approximately hourly from the "Port of Menteith" to Inchmahome Priory. Advance booking online is recommended. The Scottish Queen, Queen Margaret Stewart, lived here for a few weeks before emigrating to France as a child. A little gem, you should visit it...
