The Takakkaw Falls are Canada's highest waterfalls and worth a visit if you are nearby. The surrounding mountain scenery is aesthetically pleasing and the walk along the Yoho River would be easy and almost flat. The opposite Highline Trail is a bit more challenging for hikers. The well-developed Takakkaw Lake route leads to the lake above, which then falls down as a beautiful Takakkaw waterfall. Well visited at all times, many tourists.

Very high waterfall, so you will get wet if you go too close. Very crowded during high season. Nice, scenic waterfall though.

Takakkaw Falls is a waterfall in Yoho National Park, near Field, British Columbia. With an altitude of 381.1 m, it is, according to official measurements, the second highest waterfall in Western Canada, after the Della Falls at 440 m. However, the free fall is only 254 m high.

Takakkaw comes from the language of the Cree and means something like "it's great". The waterfall is fed by the Daly Glacier, which is part of the Waputik Icefield.
