Cycling

This hunebed is one of the most special in Drenthe. Its discovery dates back to about 1735 and the first excavation took place in 1756. At that time a small stone staircase served as an entrance, which is why archaeologists also call it the 'step grave of Eext'. The hunebed is still partly under a large hill. The large flat capstone on top was found during work in the village of Eext and was not placed on the grave until 1976.
