Hiking
The central nave dates from around 1400. The northern nave was added in 1840 (dedicated to the Ten Martyrs of Crete) and another nave with a bell tower in 1898 (dedicated to Saint Haralambos). "Galatiani" derives from the Greek word gala (milk). According to one legend, shepherds at the time mixed milk instead of water into the mortar to make the masonry more stable. Another theory states that the church is named after an icon showing Mary breastfeeding the baby Jesus.
