According to tradition, the Elisensitz lookout point was the favorite place of Crown Princess Elisabeth of Bavaria, wife of Crown Prince Friedrich-Wilhelm of Prussia. He had the Prussian architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel build a lookout point at this location, which was popularly known as Elisensitz. This site was probably built around 1833. The site, which had fallen into complete disrepair over the years, was reconstructed in 2005. Source: Text information board
