The “stone sea”, as it is called here, is located near the Maunert summit on the Taben-Rodt rock path. The name should make you sit up and take notice and remind you that you should bring sturdy shoes and surefootedness. The stones are not all fixed, so exercise caution when walking through the “sea of stones”.

The small tourist town of Taben-Rodt is located high above the Saar valley on the border with Saarland, surrounded by beautiful forests. The well-tended and very well signposted hiking trails allow an eventful, hour-long hike through wonderful, sun-drenched forests and rugged rocky landscapes. The Maunert rock path is one of the most beautiful and exciting hikes in this area.
