Mountain biking
The trades of the wood turners and metal pushers as well as three large quarry companies made the place an industrial center.
Wilhelm Jegel, himself a quarry owner, became mayor after 1870. The new building of the first town hall from 1886 and the fountain on the market square from 1879 go back to him.
