The eastern shore path of Lake Hallstatt is perfectly developed and mostly follows the railway line from Bad Goisern to Obertraun. In several places you have direct access to the lake for swimming.
Tricky passages are mitigated by complex structural bridge constructions. Cyclists and hikers share these routes. Therefore, mutual consideration is the top priority. If the cyclist gets off and pushes at the train stops, as instructed by the signs, the conductor may expressly praise him.
