Bike Touring Highlight
Via the Balkantrasse you have the ideal opportunity to cycle through the hilly landscape of the Bergisches Land to the lowlands of the Rhine. The name "Balkantrasse" is reminiscent of the "Balkanexpress" - this is how the former railway line between Leverkusen-Opladen and Remscheid-Lennep was previously known. The route is 51 kilometers long and the highest point is 351 meters above sea level. The Balkantrasse is part of the network of panoramic cycle paths in North Rhine-Westphalia, which links individual routes to form a network that is over 300 kilometers long.

The Balkantrasse is completely asphalted and, like all railroad tracks, has only moderate inclines, only feed and discharge can be steeper at times.
Your entrances are not provided with such tight mesh bars that a velomobile or trike would not fit well, so they are also suitable for these types of bikes.
