Not far from the largest Liszt Museum in Germany, the former home of the famous musician, there is a life-size Liszt monument in the park itself. The monumental statue of white Carrara marble, created by the sculptor Hermann Hahn, was unveiled in 1902 at its present location. The monument base consists of yellowish-white Jurakalk with fossil remains. The plateau in front of the monument is covered with a mosaic pavement of colored natural stone. In the shadow of huge old trees you can stay here.
From 1848 to 58 he worked as musical director of the court orchestra and the music theater. Numerous well-known works, u. a. Wagner's Lohengrin (1850) was also premiered in Weimar under his direction.
