The gigantic bunker system stretches from the junction of the B 275 towards Wiesental below Ziegenberg Castle through the Schneiderwald forest. Coming from the direction of Usingen, before entering the town, an access road branches off to the left into the forest to the ammunition depot that was later built there by the German army, but has long since been abandoned - today the depot is also a restricted area.
The empty and mostly overgrown and dilapidated buildings as well as the tunnel system of the Adlerhorst Führer headquarters there were monitored by federal security services. But after the staff left, the barracks of the Bundeswehr depot that was later built there, hidden in the forest, are also a target for curious adventurers, history buffs and diehards.
On the ground floor of the bunker house with balcony there was an entrance to the actual bunker complex of the Führer headquarters.
