Động Âm Phủ is more than a symbolic descent into the Buddhist underworld — it’s also a memorial to the revolutionary history hidden within Marble Mountain. Here, a large stone relief commemorates the revolutionary fighters who once used these caves as shelter and meeting points. The plaque honours the “Five Heroes of Marble Mountain,” resistance soldiers who fought bravely during the war and were formally recognised in 1985 with the First‑Class Victory Medal. The juxtaposition of spiritual imagery and wartime memorials gives this part of the cave a powerful sense of endurance — both moral and human.
