Rübezahl in Würzburg!
As part of the 1990 State Garden Show, several gardens and landmarks for Würzburg's twin towns were created below the Marienberg Fortress. Würzburg's youngest twin town, Trutnov (formerly Trautenau) in the Czech Republic, has also been represented with a twin garden on the former State Garden Show site since last Friday. The city bequeathed Würzburg a Rübezahl figure made of wood, over two metres tall. The area around the figure was designed based on the Giant Mountains. kerstin-celina.de/ruebezahl-in-wuerzburg

According to ancient traditions, Rübezahl is the lord of the mountains. The legends tell how he rules on Schneekoppe, the highest mountain in the Giant Mountains in the Czech Republic. As a giant who knows magic, he punishes the bad and sometimes helps the good.
