Everything has already been written about the bastion. So just enjoy the sight and take in everything.

From here there is the world-famous view of the Bastei bridge. Definitely visit, the view is great and extends in good visibility to the Hohe Schneeberg (CZ) the highest with 723m Talfelberg in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.

The Ferdinandstein can be reached from the bastion view, turning left before the bastion bridge. One looks u. a. to the Wehlgrund, to the Kleiner Gans and to the locomotive. The Ferdinandstein is named after the Emperor Ferdinand of Austria.wanderpfade.de/?wp=1168

Great view. Unfortunately very crowded on the weekend. Dear visit during the week!

As a photographer, a visit outside of rush hours is recommended (see other tips). A big backpack is also not recommended in these times. There are different places (see pictures) from which one can admire the bastion.

If you want to get exactly this perspective on the bridge, then you probably have to hire and wait a little wait. But not too many people are worth it!

Good view of the Bastei bridge. The two euro admission worthwhile for that reason alone.

The best thing to do is to visit the "Bastei" during the week, because there are quite a few people on holidays or at the weekend ...

The best time is between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. The bastion is not yet overcrowded since most day trippers only arrive after 10 a.m. If the weather is right, you can watch the rising fog - a beautiful natural spectacle, which then reveals the famous view.
