About halfway between Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie, Highway 17 crosses the Serpent River. Directly below are rapids known as Kennebec Falls and/or Serpent River Falls. The rapids can be reached from Serpent River Park (or Serpent River Parkette) via an asphalt path that leads under the road bridge.
