After a flood in 1778 had destroyed all bridges and footbridges along the Urnäsch, the famous Teufen builder Hans Ulrich Grubenmann built this 30 meter long and 6.5 meter high covered bridge (load-bearing polygonal beam made of five fields) in 1780. Because of the many historical inscriptions it is also called the Talking Bridge.

Beautiful and well-preserved wooden bridge over a side tributary of the Sitter. There are numerous bridges in this valley!
