    There is not really much to see. The remaining foundations can only be recognized by freeing them from the leaves. It was built around 1170 by Count Konrad von Wunstorf and Roden, a follower of Henry the Lion. Only the site plan and the reconstruction attempt, depicted on a display board, give an idea that the Hünenburg near Hohenrode was a weir with football field-sized dimensions.
