Rallarvegen follows the route built by the navvies (“rallare”) who constructed the Ofoten Line around 1900. Originally a construction road for transporting workers and materials, it now leads hikers through spectacular mountain scenery while preserving traces of one of Norway’s most remarkable railway engineering projects.
