There are many piles of stones between Solheim and Björnfjell. On your hike you will see the foundations of old houses and relics from times of war again and again. The Germans used this area as a base camp for their activities.

In 1903 the railway line was opened by King Oscar II. 25 years later this memorial stone was erected and there is a supply road that follows the railway line towards Rombaksbotn and leads in the other direction to the upper station of the Swedish cable car.
