The Elsa Brändström monument stands in front of the gate and tower house of the decaying Neusorge Castle. It commemorates the Swedish philanthropist, who ran an orphanage and welfare home there between 1924 and 1931.
The stele was inaugurated on September 19, 2014, in the presence of representatives of the city and the Swedish embassy.
