"The Weixdorf ponds, which feed the Lausenbach, are of particular importance.
The Friedersdorf mill pond covers an area of around 20,300 m², the middle pond around 7,800 m², the upper middle pond around 9,500 m² and the Weixdorf forest pool with the parts Weixdorf forest pool 1 and Weixdorf forest pool 2 together cover around 28,800 m².
The ponds are separated from each other by dams. Connecting ditches exist to regulate the water levels. There is also the Friedersdorf mill ditch, which leads from the middle pond past the ponds to the Lausenbach.
The ponds date back to the end of the 15th century, when an extensive pond construction program was initiated in Saxony to improve flood protection and fish farming. To date, the size of the ponds has changed only slightly; only the Weixdorf forest pool, which is also known as the Lausa large pond, was built in the middle of the 19th century. Century to about half of its original size." - Water profile Lausenbach of the state capital Dresden
