Due to construction activity on the Irchel campus, the Zoologieweiher had to be relocated. Now one can observe the new creation of the body of water with its flora and fauna here.
"The new Zoologieweiher is located in the eastern part of Irchel Park and consists of an upper and a lower pond. It forms an ecologically valuable habitat for the existing fauna and flora. Through the restoration of the watercourse bed of the Spitalerbach above the new pond, a sufficient and permanent water supply is ensured.
