Lough Keel is an elongated peat lake in the quiet hinterland between Dungloe and Doochary. The dark water lies embedded in open peatlands and low ridges, typical of this part of West Donegal. Due to its remote location, it remains remarkably quiet here: no buildings, only wind, water, and the vast moorland landscape. The lake is part of a series of natural peat lakes that drain via small streams towards the Gweebarra valley.
