Now in a consistent continuation of the Werner bathing tradition, a graduation mill was erected in 1990 at the Stadtpark, in the immediate vicinity of the Natur-Solebad. The brine, which passes over the thistle wall of the graduation tower and consists of blackthorn, forms a "brine mist" due to the impact on the thorns. The air surrounding the graduation unit is enriched with brine so that a maritime climate is created, which has a very beneficial effect on respiratory diseases. Especially from the residents and visitors to the city center, the graduation house is visited, for. For example, after a shopping trip, let the day fade away in a relaxing climate. The surrounding living and garden areas also contribute to this. From the terrace, which has resulted due to the difference in height, you can enjoy a charming view of the city park. In order to make it possible to stay at the graduation house in the evenings, lighting is installed.

In 1873 and 1874, a source of brine was discovered when drilling for coal fields. The thermal bath Werne was opened. In 1878 the facility was enlarged and the corporation "Thermalbad Werne" was founded. In 1897, the city could not raise the sum of 230,000 Reichsmark to buy the bath - because of the Georg Marienberg mining and metallurgical association acquired the plant.
The Werne colliery was sunk in 1899. This event represented the beginning of industrialization for the city.
The brine spring dried up in 1905 and was reopened only in 1935.
In 1926 the outdoor pool was opened.
In 1975, the Werne colliery, which had about 4,000 jobs before the start of the coal crisis, closed down 2,000 jobs.
After complete transformation, the natural brine bath was finally reopened in 1988. In 1991, a graduation school was built in the city park at the city lake. The brine bath has been closed since the beginning of 2015; a new building, expected opening in early 2020 (if there is clarity about the financing) is provided.

The graduation tower, built in 1991, is 50 meters long and nine meters wide and is in close proximity to the city lake. Here visitors can use the healing effects of the brine for their health. The brine trickles over a wall of black thorn, so that a fine mist is created when it hits the thorns. This enriches the air with brine and creates a maritime climate.
