Best Hikes to Guadalmesi Watchtower

Tips

  • The tower of Guadalmesí is about 15 meters high and stands in an exposed location. The torre was built in 1588 at the mouth of the Guadalmesí River. It was once used to guard the estuary as it was used as a source of drinking water. The word "Guadalmes" comes from the Arabic and means something like "river of women".

  • Be careful in spring when crossing the beach valley, the river carries a lot of water and we may have to take off our shoes.
